Comparing
types of artificial light on plant growth |
|
|
|
Introduction:
Plants need light. Leaves
produce the plant's food by the action of light on chlorophyll
contained in their cells. This process is called
photosynthesis.
Sunlight contains all the light
that plants need, however if we decide to use artificial light, we
are not sure that every light bulb has all the lights that a plant
needs.
|
|
Ordinary incandescent light bulb,
Fluorescent bulbs, Metal-Halide and High-Pressure-Sodium bulbs are among
the light types that you can test for this project.

Project
description:
In this project you design and perform an experiment to compare the
effect of different artificial lights on plant growth. Your experiment
results can be submitted in the form of a table and a graph. Allow 3 to
6 weeks for your experiments. |
