What attracts insects? light or heat?

What light or heat conditions are favorable to insects?
Introduction:

In order to control insects to maximize their benefits and reduce their harms we need to know the conditions that are favorable to insects. Conditions such as light, temperature and moisture are among the environmental conditions that may be studied for each specific insect. Other studies may include color preferences, food preferences and many more.
 
 Project description:
Select an Insect that you have easy and safe access to. Perform experiments to see if the insects that you are studying prefer a light or dark environment. You may do a similar study on insects to find out if they prefer a warm or cold environment.
