Expansion and Contraction of Liquids

Introduction:
Liquids expand or contract as a result of a temperature change. Almost all liquids expand when heated and contract by reducing the temperature. The expansion and contraction of liquids with temperature changes is used in measuring temperatures in the classic liquid thermometers.

Expansion and contraction of liquids varies among different liquids and is considered one of the important physical properties of liquids.

Material and instructions:
You can do this project as a display project or an experimental project. Study and compare the expansion and contraction of three different liquids. Assemble an instrument that helps you to measure the expansion or contraction of liquids by temperature change. Use this property of liquids to build a thermometer.
