Plant growth

How does the temperature affect the plant growth?

Also: The effect of soil temperature in seed germination

Introduction:

For farmers and growers it is important to know the best conditions for the growth of their products. In the past, just by experience most farmers and growers learned what is the best season for planting certain plants. With modern technologies and production of plants in green houses and other controlled environments, we have lost part of our dependencies to seasons and weather conditions. We now need to know the best conditions and adjust our environment according to that.

Temperature, light, air, water, soil, pH and nutrients are among the factors that may be studied for each specific plant.

 Project description:
In this project you will attempt to identify the effect of temperature on the growth of a specific plant of our choice. You may perform your experiments on an existing plant or grow seeds for your experiments. You need at least 60 days to complete your experiments. If you have less time, you may choose the second title that studies the effect of temperature on seed germination. You can do that in about 3 weeks.
 Details of this project:
More details or support on this project is available for the members of ScienceProject.com. Note that two different titles are on this page. Project guide for this project suggests a hypothesis and experiments for both subjects. You can choose either one as your project.

Material needed for experiment can be found at home or obtained locally.
