What is the Effect of Oil on Plants?
 Introduction:
In order to grow,
plants absorb water and nutrients from soil and light from the sun.  All nutrients will be carried into the plants roots, leaves, and stem by water. Water can also carry harmful material into the plant. Good nutrients can help plants grow faster, however, harmful material can have a reverse effect and slow down plant growth. Knowing what materials can help plant growth and what materials are harmful for plants can help us protect our plants and produce healthier plants.

Many studies have been done to see how different material, especially industrial and household materials, affect plant growth.

Material and step by step instructions:
In this project you will research the effects of oil on plants. Materials for this project can be found at home or obtained locally. If you have enough time for your project, you may plant seeds for your experiments (4 to 6 weeks).
Details of this project:
More details for this project are available in the members section of ScienceProject.com's web site. Since research on this subject has a long history, you might also be able to find good books about it in your local library or find some information on the internet.
